A Gold block is one of the two first metals in Manic Digger. If shadows are turned on, Gold Blocks glow when placed, like torches. Because of that, Gold Blocks have three uses, including decoration.
As a light source, gold blocks do not emit a lot of light, but it can be used in decorative buildings.
The third and most worthy use of Gold Blocks is trading/buying. You can "buy" a variety of different blocks by laying Gold Blocks on a Crafting Table.
Crafting
Made from crafting Gold Ore and Coal Ore, it is crafted into a variety of different blocks like trading for TNT, Adminium, or Red Cloth.

Trivia
- In future builds of the game, developers have discussed changing Gold Ore to Native Gold, and having more realistic crafting recipes, but these are still uncertain at this point in time.
