A while ago, a battle mode for Manic Digger was suggested and Ace of Spades was an example of a blocky battle mode game so naturally, it was put into the suggestion. I took a look at this suggestion and saw this "Ace of Spades". I basically put my life on hold for a month and played non-stop during the day. It was so awesome. It was like Call of Duty 1 with the destructive environment. I loved the feeling of running through destroy buildings and wrecked landscapes while shooting the other team. It was truly wonderful...

Now I'm actually good at it and I notice the hackers a lot. I actually like playing with hackers to see if I can kill them (obviously I kill them maybe 1-5 times in a single match). It's still pretty good though, but I hear that they are wanting to make it cost a small amount of money... The best games are the ones that start and stay free.

Most likely they'll keep free "classic" edition, just like they did with e.g. Kerbal Space Program, so don't worry.

Ace of Spades is now owned by Jagex (company who made Runescape). They seem to be waiting to release anything at all (new game versions including 0.76, information about newer releases, etc.) and so the community is getting restless.

Hello, for one AoS is one of my all time favourties and im telling you this, As of soon AoS will be going to Steam and you'll have to pay to play. Now thats not cool as AoS was suppose to be the free game that outranks Minecraft but with the new owners (Jagex) Its become bad, the gameplay's the same but Jagex isn't doing jack sh*t to fux stuff on AoS. They're sitting on there asses and waiting for the money to roll in (once AoS comes to Steam)

And AoS is like Minecraft now, All the owners are too lazy to fix things in mineract and AoS, and i hope AoS can reject the grip of the new owners.

P.S Jagex is a very lazy company

So if anyone is checking this game out still, you should probably know you can play the older (some say better) version of Ace of Spade at http://www.buildandshoot.com for free (yes, totally free). Jagex's Ace of Spades is a much different feel than the original Ace of Spades and costs $9.99 on Steam. The resources needed to run Jagex's game are much higher than the orignal Ace of Spades so take that into consideration too. Just thought I'd help some people out if anyone looks at this thread.
