Hello everyone!

I've been way too silent lately. This has an end now ;)

I can't believe it has been more than 2 years since my work on a map for Manic Digger started.
As the whole thing has been running more or less stable for quite some time now I decided to do a beta release.

Image Image Image

What does beta mean?
Mainly the following things:
- There might (and probably will) be problems
- Not all features I wanted to do are implemented yet (hence the 0.6 version tag)
- Core functions should work rather stable

Server Map Mod by croxxx (BETA)
This mod generates a 2D overview (topographic) map of your server.

The generated map is saved as 256x256 tiles according to TMS map specification. These tiles can then be used by any map viewer such as Leaflet or similar to generate a view like my livemap.
People having the map privilege are able to view a 128x128 square with them in center in-game.

Note:
The browser-based map viewer that can be seen over at http://map.croxxx.tk/ is not included as I have yet to finish it in a way I'm happy with.

Important:
Make sure to read the included README carefully when you decide to use this mod.
There are issues when using this mod with the current game version as-is. Also there's information on what to do if it crashes ;)

As always, feel free to propose new features, report bugs or just say hello

Regards,
croxxx

Hi croxxx!
Yeh... I am not dead yet. I don't want you to get away with that that easily; ;)
But in all seriousness, I was just wondering if this game still has a heartbeat, and there is
living proof of it with this amazing mod that I have seen grow from a buggy mod to an almost
perfect composure - I feel like a poet after typing that...
It's great to see that you still whole-heartily enjoy making this game better.
I hope to see you soon on Pixolia - Maybe!.. :P

Oh and Happy New Year!

Great mod!
I think it would be better if you used a "map tool" to show the map rather then a server command.

Thank you e-arif for the kind words :)

Mr. Rar, I'm not sure what you mean by "map tool".
Do you mean something like a block players can interact with?

Regards,
croxxx

I mean that there should be a "map tool" which is registered as a tool block that therefore can't be placed. If the player selects it and clicks (I don't know off hand whether right or left click) the map widget will be shown.
